Grower's Notes

• Stiffer than most Crypts. Cryptocoryne walkeri holds a more rigid, upright rosette than the sprawling wendtii types, giving it a distinct texture next to softer Crypts in the same bed.
• Dark brown to red leaf color under strong light and lower pH makes it a natural contrast plant against green foreground species.
• Expect melt after planting. Crypts drop leaves on a change of conditions and rebuild from the roots over two to four weeks. Don't pull them.
• Place it once. Every move triggers another melt.
• Not the same plant as Cryptocoryne lutea, a closely related but separately listed variety in our catalog — check the profile before substituting one for the other.
