Why Moissanite

Diamond solitaires usually cost thousands of dollars and even tens of thousands of dollars in larger sizes. Traditional alternatives such as CZ are decent, but are not on the level of diamond or moissanite in terms of looks and durability. CZ jewelry has fatal flaws such as a low hardness scale rating, lower light refraction rate, and a chemical makeup that leaves it prone to hazing over time. While very inexpensive, it's not the best choice for long-lasting beauty and enjoyment. 

Moissanite on the other hand, has a hardness level of 9.5 out of 10, extremely close to a diamond which has a rating of 10. This makes it an ideal stone for something you plan to keep for many years or even generations, whereas a CZ is more of a disposable item. Additionally, the light refraction rate of a moissanite is significantly higher than CZ and actually higher than that of a diamond. When cut with skill, precision and experience, moissanite will have more fire and brilliance than even the best diamonds. 

A good quality moissanite bridges the gap between a cheap "fake" diamond and extremely overpriced natural diamonds. A moissanite is not a fake diamond, but an incredibly rare and beautiful gemstone in it's own right. However, due to it's virtually indistinguishable looks, and the fact that they test positive on hand held diamond testers, many people use them as diamond alternatives. Given all of these benefits and the fact that they are now available for not much more than CZ, it has become a no-brainer for jewelry lovers all over the world.
