Product Description CELYND black T316 stainless steel wire rope is designed primarily for cable railing and other compatible non-lifting applications. The 7x7 strand construction provides a practical balance of strength and flexibility. T316 stainless steel offers good corrosion resistance for indoor and outdoor use when the cable is installed, cleaned, and maintained properly. Do not use cable with broken wires, severe kinks, abnormal surface damage, or visible corrosion. Use only with cable-railing posts, tensioners, terminals, sleeves, and other hardware compatible with 1/8 in. cable. Plan cable spacing, post layout, anchoring, and tension in accordance with the railing system manufacturer's instructions and applicable local building requirements. Before cutting, wrap the cut location firmly with tape to help keep the strands together. Wear eye and hand protection and use a clean wire-rope cutter suitable for stainless steel. Keep the cable and tools away from carbon-steel grinding dust, steel wool, rusty tools, or contaminated work surfaces. Foreign iron particles may cause localized surface staining or rust. Clean the cable periodically with fresh water and mild soap, then rinse and dry with a clean soft cloth. In coastal, marine, poolside, high-salt, or high-chloride environments, inspect and clean the cable more frequently. Do not use steel wool, carbon-steel brushes, rusty tools, abrasive metal pads, or cleaners containing strong acids, strong alkalis, bleach, or chlorides. Avoid prolonged contact with fertilizers, de-icing salts, cement dust, masonry cleaners, and other corrosive chemicals. If light surface staining appears, clean it promptly with a stainless-steel-safe cleaner and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Inspection and Replacement Inspect the cable and fittings after installation and periodically thereafter. Check for loose tension, broken strands, kinks, severe abrasion, deep scratches, deformation, damaged fittings, or significant corrosion. Stop using the affected section and replace the cable if broken strands, severe corrosion, major deformation, or other structural damage is found. Storage Store unused cable in a clean, dry, ventilated area. Keep the cable away from standing water, salt spray, strong chemicals, and carbon-steel dust or filings.
