About this item

Human beings have always needed to orient themselves and navigate the world. Since the beginning of humanity, when we moved in a nomadic way following the animal species on their migratory routes for hunting. In addition to collecting, they also had to memorize landmarks on the route such as peaks, river passes, water sources and countless other things to be able to orient themselves and not lose their way. Within the observation of it, the human being realized certain indicators that facilitated navigation through the world. In principle, natural indicators such as tree trunks, mossy areas, the migratory route of the animals themselves and later the stars will begin to be used with the evolution of astronomy. Also due to the desire to remember the places and how to get there, cartography is developed, being the sailors largely the ones who contribute advances and knowledge on the matter. From then on, with this evolution of astronomy and cartography, with the knowledge and devices provided by the Muslim world brought from the Asians, all in conjunction, gave rise to greater precision about the world. Throughout history, there have been many navigation or measurement devices that have helped to carry out world-class feats. Although in this manual, knowing the magnificent GPS that exist today and that everyone knows how to use them and if they do not learn easily, we are going to focus on traditional land navigation, that of map and compass. Because you never know, we can run out of battery, it may not triangulate the device well or it may simply break by accident. That is why I consider that it is worth learning about these more traditional methods, yes, but they never fail.
